Mission Statement
Women & Theatre is a producing company based in Birmingham, West Midlands. We produce high quality new theatre of contemporary relevance. In particular to:
- Reflect the language and lives of ordinary people, giving voices to those who are not usually heard
- Recognise and represent women’s experience
- Embrace cultural diversity
- Tour theatre to traditional venues and new spaces
We use theatre and interactive drama to promote the spiritual, social, physical and mental well being of the whole community. In particular we:
- Encourage social inclusion in health, education and the wider community
- Develop our work through local research in partnership with key organisations and communities
- Work in partnership to facilitate these programmes in their appropriate context
- Strive to overcome barriers to access, such as language, disability, child care and the ability to pay
Women & Theatre strive to be an equal opportunities employer. In addition we:
